Two person outfit WashBear Studio is working on a lighter, slightly less realistic-looking competitor for Jurassic World Evolution. The game has been on my radar for a little while now, and with this site up and running I am no longer constricted to bugging my girlfriend about it.
When you look at the screens and trailers, you see a cheerful looking game where there is room for some humour. My daughter and I got very excited when we spotted a dinosaur with a hat and one with glasses. Designing weird characters for a game (strangely, most of those end up in multiple shades of pink, don’t know where that is coming from) is something we like to do together.
Also, the game looks like something I can play around my kids, a friendly environment instead of the bloodthirsty brutes in that other dinosaur park management sim. I only hope they outclass the competition when it comes to management. Some of the things I have seen seem to point to that, but I haven’t seen a comprehensive overview of the possibilities (yet). The game enters Early Access on September 25th and I will try to get a good look at it as soon as I can get my hands on the game.
