Football Manager has been a staple in my gaming line-up ever since I got to know it as Championship Manager somewhere in the mid-’90s. I was 10, had no clue what I was doing but loved the idea of me being a manager of a football team.
With the rise of Women’s Football around the globe, the question wasn’t if it would be added, but when. In a blogpost, Miles Jacobsen, head honcho at Sports Interactive talks at length about the work involved in this addition.
In the past, when asked for clarification on the topic, Jacobsen mostly answered with phrases like: “When we do it, we’ll do it properly”. Which is nice, but hardly helpful. In the blogpost he mentions that they have no plans to make a seperate game out of it. As stated “One Sport, One Game”, which I believe to be excellent.
While I believe the addition to be a few years in the making, I am already itching to play with my national women’s team!
